This British craft brewery has gained a reputation for creating exceptional beers with unique and exciting flavour profiles. We’ll be discussing the brewery’s history, the types of beer they produce, and its brewing process. So, let’s dive in!

History of Magic Rock Brewery

Magic Rock Brewery was founded in 2011 in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire, by Richard Burhouse, who had previously owned a successful specialist beer shop. The brewery quickly gained popularity for its flavorful and inventive beers, and in 2015 it was acquired by Lion Little World Beverages, part of the Lion Group, one of the world’s largest beer companies. Despite this, Magic Rock has remained true to its craft roots. It continues to produce exceptional beers with an independent spirit.

Types of Magic Rock Beer

Magic Rock is known for its wide range of beers available in cans and bottles. The brewery’s core range includes several classic styles such as IPAs, Pale Ales, and Stouts. However, Magic Rock is also known for its more experimental brews, including sour, fruited, and even beer brewed with coffee. Some of the most popular beers from Magic Rock include the Cannonball IPA, the High Wire Grapefruit Pale Ale, and the Common Grounds Triple Coffee Porter.

Brewing Process at Magic Rock Brewery

Magic Rock uses a traditional brewing process to create unique and flavorful beers. The brewery sources high-quality ingredients from around the world, including hops from the Pacific Northwest of the United States and malted barley from the UK and Germany. The brewery also uses its own house yeast strain to add to the unique flavour profiles of its beers.

The brewing process at Magic Rock involves several steps, including mashing, boiling, fermentation, and conditioning. Malted barley is mixed with hot water during the mashing process to create a sugary liquid called wort. The wort is then boiled with hops to add flavour and aroma to the beer. After boiling, the liquid is cooled and transferred to a fermentation tank, where yeast is added. The yeast consumes the sugars in the wort and produces alcohol and carbon dioxide. The beer is then conditioned for a period of time to allow the flavours to mature.
