Established in 1982 in the Belgian Ardennes, Brasserie d'Achouffe has its roots in a run-down cowshed, founded by two brothers-in-law. While the cowshed is no longer their location, the name Achouffe pays tribute to the nearby village. The iconic gnome featured on their bottles was an idea of brewer Chris. McChouffe is a bold, dark ale with a distinct aniseed and liquorice flavour, balancing pear undertones with a subtle hint of bitterness on the finish. With an impressive 8.0% ABV, this Belgian favourite is smooth and flavourful, exemplifying the expertise and passion of the brewery.
