Schlenkerla Helles is made with high-quality Bavarian aroma hops grown near Nurnberg. The lager is aged in centuries-old caves beneath the historic Schlenkerla brewery and malt house. Like the famous Schlenkerla Smokebeer, Helles is boiled in the same copper kettles and fermented with the same yeast. However, Helles stands out with its unique, subtle smokiness achieved without the use of smoke malt. This beer is a prime example of the traditional lager style.
